The Relentless Optimism of New Year’s Eve

Each year we say it: next year will be better. I struggle to remember a single year when that thought wasn’t top of mind for me. Isn’t that incredible, that we always keep hoping, creating, and looking forward to brighter days, always believing that the best is yet to be?

In a year when I was sicker than I’ve ever been, nearly losing it all (twice), 2021 was also a year that I healed. In a year when I cried more than I’ve ever cried before, it was also a year when I found unbounded joy. In a year of a lot of loss, it was also a year when I was found.

All we can do is keep going, together. On this road, we’re going to find our way. Wishing you a safe, healthy, and hopeful 2022.
