Nature never ceases to amaze me. Every living being has wisdom to share with us. Take the seemingly humble bloodworm. They are geniuses. Their jaws have multi-tasking protein (MTP). MTP binds to copper, converts Dopa to melanin, and integrates copper and melanin into a new ultra strong composite material. This has massive potential for new materials production.

When we talk about the need to preserve habitat for animals to promote our own survival, this is what we mean. Other beings on this planet hold the key to many of our challenges. By giving all beings the space to survive and thrive, we give ourselves the space to learn, evolve, and innovate.

In the wake of COP15 and the White House roadmap for nature-based solutions, it is becoming evermore critical to protect biodiversity as a means for ensuring our ability to help humans survive and thrive.
